LOS ANGELES (Kyodo) Game creator Nintendo Co. said Thursday it has filed a lawsuit against a U.S. firm for selling devices that allow users to download and play pirated versions of the company's game software.

The lawsuit was filed Wednesday in the Western District of Washington against NXPGAME Inc. after the firm ignored repeated warnings from Nintendo to stop selling the so-called game copiers on its multiple Web sites.

The copiers on the Web sites allow users to download, play and distribute illegal copies of the video game software of Nintendo DS and DSi portable game consoles.
