Haneda airport expects international arrivals and departures to rise 80.2 percent in fiscal 2010 following the opening of its fourth runway in October, operator Japan Airport Terminal Co. said.

Thanks to a stronger economy and other factors, the international passenger tally at the Tokyo airport is likely to grow from 5 million through March 2011, to 8 million in fiscal 2011, and to 8.6 million the following year, Japan Airport Terminal said.

It also said it expects domestic departures and arrivals to rise steadily from 61 million in fiscal 2010 to 62.2 million in fiscal 2012.
