Prime Minister Yukio Hatoyama said Monday he will decide the government’s position on relocating the U.S. Marine Corps Air Station Futenma in Okinawa “within days,” after U.S. officials called on Tokyo to make up its mind by Friday.
The decision, however, is expected to be revealed Tuesday at a meeting of the ministerial committee on basic policies involving the leaders of the three parties in the ruling coalition, sources said.
