A Chinese woman has been arrested on suspicion of illegally entering Japan by falsifying her fingerprints to deceive the biometric recognition system at Kansai International Airport in Osaka, police said Monday.
Lin Rong, 27, is believed to have undergone surgery to swap the skin on two fingertips on her left hand to her right hand, and vice versa, the police said. She allegedly told investigators she spent about ¥1.3 million to have the surgery performed in China.
