The Air Self-Defense Force said Friday it will ground its F-15 fighter jets for checks after one experienced trouble after landing at the ASDF Komatsu Air Base in Ishikawa Prefecture earlier in the day, closing down operations for four hours.
After engaging in combat training above the Noto Peninsula, the aircraft came to a standstill on the runway due to a malfunction, the ASDF said, without elaborating.
The flight suspension will exclude emergency scrambles, it said.
