Japan will showcase a full lineup of its creative powers ranging from games, animation and comic books to film, music and fashion through a series of events starting this week to promote them on the international stage and seek more business opportunities.

The events, to be held under the banner of the Japan International Content Festival, or CoFesta, until late October, will begin Thursday through Sunday with Tokyo Game Show 2009, the world’s largest computer entertainment show, at the Makuhari Messe convention center in Chiba Prefecture.
