The Cabinet approved on Monday the appointment of Takaharu Ando as chief of the National Police Agency to replace Hiroto Yoshimura.
After joining the NPA in 1972, the 59-year-old Ando has served as the Gunma Prefectural Police chief, head of the public security department of the Metropolitan Police Department and the NPA’s deputy commissioner general.
