YOKOHAMA (Kyodo) The head of a day care nursery school was arrested Monday in Kawaguchi, Saitama Prefecture, for allegedly uploading pictures of naked girls to a pedophile Web site.
The photos are not of children at his school, police said. Instead, they originated from a different Web site. The name of the nursery school is Biinzu Tozuka-Angyo-eki-mae.
Satoshi Takahashi, 44, who lives in Kawaguchi, was arrested on suspicion of violating the child pornography law.
According to the police, Takahashi sent eight photos of girls to the Web site via a cell phone in late October 2007.
"I wanted to exchange images with other people," Takahashi was quoted as saying.
The operating company of the nursery school declined comment, saying it could not confirm the report.
