YOKOHAMA (Kyodo) Bills worth ¥7.5 million were found scattered across a street early Friday in Hadano, Kanagawa Prefecture, after police received an anonymous call about a man acting suspiciously.

About 10 officers from the Hadano Police Station spent an hour gathering approximately 750 ¥10,000 bills and two ¥1,000 bills after responding to the call shortly after midnight.

They also found elastic bands, likely used to bundle the bills together.

The police are searching for the person who left the bills and also want to trace the caller, they said.
