YOKOSUKA, Kanagawa Pref. (Kyodo) The commander of U.S. Naval Forces Japan, Rear Adm. James Kelly, was succeeded Thursday by Rear Adm. Richard Wren.
During a replacement ceremony aboard the aircraft carrier USS George Washington at the U.S. naval base in Yokosuka, Kanagawa Prefecture, Wren expressed his willingness to further develop close and amicable bilateral ties with Japan.
