CHIBA (Kyodo) Two French cabin crew members were slightly injured Thursday when an Air France jetliner from Paris hit turbulence shortly before landing at Narita airport, according to the transport ministry.

The injured crew members, a 39-year-old man and a 45-year-old woman, were taken to a hospital near the airport after suffering bruises, according to the local fire department.

None of the passengers on Flight 276 was injured, according to officials of the Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism Ministry.

The flight, with 261 passengers and 16 crew members, encountered turbulence at around 8:20 a.m. before landing at Narita about 30 minutes later.

According to the transport ministry, the plane was flying over Niigata airport at an altitude of about 7,600 meters when it ran into rough air.

Local police are questioning the crew members and passengers.

"I was scared even more because the turbulence reminded me of the recent one that hit a Northwest flight" on Feb. 20 near Narita airport, said Sachiko Nagatani, 26, who was on her way back from a tour in Spain.
