Toshiba Corp. and NEC Corp. are talking about merging their struggling semiconductor operations as they seek to counter plummeting chip prices and dwindling demand, sources said Friday.
Fujitsu Ltd. may also participate in the deal in the future since it is also looking for a partner to tie up with its semiconductor unit, which was spun off last March, they said.
