The Group of Eight leaders next week will call for a strengthened nuclear nonproliferation framework, a transparent reduction of all nuclear powers' weapons stockpiles and for North Korea and Iran to abandon their atomic ambitions, the chairman's summit summary draft says.

The leaders, meeting in Toyako, Hokkaido, for three days starting Monday, will acknowledge the need to increase financial aid to Africa beyond current commitments and welcome the "Toyako Framework for Action" to help address health-related issues, a copy of the draft says.

Japan as this year's G8 host is also discussing with member nations the inclusion of a provision to urge North Korea to take action to resolve humanitarian concerns, including its abductions of Japanese nationals, sources said.
