Nomura Holdings Inc. said Monday that Kenichi Watanabe, deputy president of Nomura Securities Co., will succeed Nobuyuki Koga as its president and chief executive officer, effective April 1.

Watanabe will also take the helm of Nomura Securities as president and CEO.

Koga, who concurrently serves as president of Nomura Securities, will become chairman of the board at the brokerage house.

Nomura Holdings made the announcement as part of top management changes at its group companies.

Nomura also said Takumi Shibata, president of Nomura Asset Management Co., will become its new chief operating officer.
