YOKOHAMA – A 35-year-old man was arrested Saturday for allegedly killing his 72-year-old father, who suffered dementia, police said.
Naoki Shishido, unemployed, of Kanagawa Ward, Yokohama, is suspected of strangling and stabbing his father on a street near their home sometime between 9 p.m. Friday and 5 a.m. Saturday, the police said.
The two went out together Friday evening. The son returned home alone, telling his mother that he had killed his father, according to the police.
He has admitted to the allegations, the police said. They are investigating the motive for the killing.
