Environment Minister Yuriko Koike, who was hospitalized late last month for treatment of acute pneumonia, was discharged from the hospital Friday morning.
Koike was taken to the hospital by ambulance on the evening of March 29 after developing a high fever at her home in Tokyo. Economy, Trade and Industry Minister Toshihiro Nikai took up her work while she was away from office.
