NAGANO (Kyodo) Prosecutors asked the Nagano District Court on Wednesday to sentence a man to death for allegedly murdering four people and robbing them of their money in Nagano and Aichi prefectures in 2004.

Shojiro Nishimoto, 29, stands accused of killing taxi driver Yasuyuki Tsuchiya, 59, in Kasugai, Aichi Prefecture, Jitsue Shimanaka, 77, in Iida, Nagano Prefecture, and two others between January and September 2004 by using a knife and rope.

Nishimoto, who was unemployed, allegedly took a total of 30 million yen from them.
