NAGASAKI (Kyodo) A police officer was arrested Thursday on suspicion of pointing a gun at a man to force him to confess during questioning over a minor infraction in the city of Nagasaki.

Inspector Norihiko Irie, 53, is suspected of summoning the 34-year-old man to the police box where he worked on Jan. 17 and pointing a gun at his face to force him to confess to removing the post’s door, according to investigators.
