Some automakers have developed devices that make it easy for physically impaired people to get behind the wheel and for elderly nursing care workers to use minicars, which have an engine capacity of up to 660cc.
A Mitsubishi Motors Corp. official said the company received numerous inquiries at the Tokyo Motor Show last month about minicars for elderly and physically disabled people.
