Affiliate programs, an Internet advertising technique, are attracting people who want to earn extra pocket money as well as businesses that want to reduce advertising costs.
Participants in affiliate programs put links to businesses and product advertisements on their personal Web sites or blogs and are paid for purchases traced back to their sites.
"I am crazy about the fun I have in the affiliate program," said a woman in her 20s, who started in a program two years ago when she was looking for something to do on her computer.
