Two people died in a house fire early Saturday in Maizuru, Kyoto Prefecture, police said.
The victims were believed to be Takayuki Takada, 72, and his wife, Sayaka, 68. The police said they are investigating the cause of the fire.
The woman was confined to a wheelchair due to a leg problem, according to the police.
