YOKOHAMA – A man was seriously injured Wednesday morning when his minivan went through the gate of a grade crossing in Yokohama and ran into a passing train on the Sotetsu Honsen Line, police said.
The driver was rushed to the hospital, but none of the passengers on the eight-car Sagami Railway Co. train were hurt, according to the police.
The minivan crashed into the fifth car of the train at the crossing between Tennocho and Hoshikawa stations just past 9 a.m., the police said.
