MIYAZAKI (Kyodo) Phoenix Resort Co., operator of the Seagaia amusement park in Miyazaki Prefecture, plans to sell a golf course in the prefecture that has drawn the interest of several companies, sources said Thursday.
Phoenix Resort, bought by U.S. investment fund Ripplewood Holdings LLC in 2001 after going bankrupt, informed some 100 regular and contract employees at Phoenix Kogen Country Club in Takaoka of the plan Wednesday, they said.
The company, which was partly owned by the Miyazaki Prefectural Government, plans to sell the country club after spinning off a related operation, they said.
