MATSUYAMA, Ehime Pref. (Kyodo) China Eastern Airlines Corp. has applied to Chinese aviation authorities for permission to offer regular flights between Shanghai and Matsuyama Airport, Ehime Gov. Moriyuki Kato said Thursday.
"This has been a big step forward toward realizing the regular route," Kato told reporters.
Chinese authorities will decide whether to approve the application after considering charter flights between Shanghai and Matsuyama and consumer demand.
