A commemorative stamp featuring Japanese conductor Seiji Ozawa, music director for the Vienna State Opera, went on sale in Austria on Friday, Austrian Post said.

The stamp, costing 1 EURO was issued as part of a series of postage stamps featuring leading conductors and musicians. It is sold at post offices and may also be purchased via Austria Post's Web site, www.philatelie.at

A total of 600,000 stamps have been printed. In addition to three images of Ozawa, 68, the stamp bears his name and the name of the orchestra in both German and Japanese.
