Kanagawa Prefectural Police on Tuesday arrested a Japanese businessman and a North Korean female resident of Japan on suspicion of illegally exporting to North Korea a machine that could be used for nuclear arms development.

According to police, 44-year-old Yoshifumi Yoshihara, president of ID Support, a trading firm based in Niigata Prefecture, tried to export an inverter for an industrial washing machine from Yokohama to North Korea in August.
