YAMAGUCHI – The nation’s largest labor union opened its annual meeting here Friday by vowing to restructure the organization after a tax evasion scandal and the revelation of massive off-the-book debts.
It is the first time that Jichiro, the All-Japan Prefectural and Municipal Workers’ Union, has held an annual meeting since a string of scandals involving 19 former executives, including former heads of unions, hit last fall.
