A former vice chairman of the Iwate Prefectural Bar Association is suspected of filming up a girl's skirt at a supermarket here and the case has been sent to prosecutors, it was learned Monday.

Kunio Yamamura, 36, allegedly approached a 17-year-old girl at the Mitake district supermarket at around 12:45 p.m. Nov. 22 and filmed up her skirt with a video camera hidden in a shopping bag, according to police sources.

An employee at the shop noticed what the lawyer was doing and reported it to police, the sources said, adding that Yamamura has owned up to the wrongdoing.

Police sent the case to the Morioka District Public Prosecutor's Office in early December, according to the sources.

Later in December, Yamamura resigned the No. 2 post at the bar association, which is now considering disciplinary action against him.

He had held the post since April 2000.
