NARA – The Nara District Court on Friday sentenced the former mayor of Tenri, Nara Prefecture, to 18 months in prison, suspended for three years, for accepting a 1 million yen bribe to help a man get a job with the city office.
The court also imposed a 1 million yen fine on Fumio Ichihara, 70, who resigned as mayor after being arrested in September.
