A man who fell from a subway platform in Nagoya on Friday narrowly escaped being killed by an oncoming train after he managed to lie between the tracks, police said.
The man, 57, suffered only slight injuries as the train passed over him at Fushimi Station in Nagoya's Naka Ward at 12:08 p.m., police said.
The man told police he fell onto the tracks after feeling dizzy. He was taken to a local hospital and treated for an injury to his right hand.
