ISLAMABAD – Foreign Minister Makiko Tanaka was expected to begin her meeting Saturday evening with Pakistani Foreign Minister Abdul Sattar by discussing the international fight against terrorism and the situation in Afghanistan, Japanese officials said.
In the talks at Pakistan’s Foreign Ministry, Tanaka was expected to reiterate Japan’s appreciation for the crucial role the Pakistani government has played in supporting the U.S.-led campaign against terrorism, now centered on military action in Afghanistan.
