MATSUE, Shimane Pref. – The Hiroshima High Court’s Matsue Branch on Monday sentenced a woman to 20 years in prison for plotting the murder of her husband, nullifying a lower court ruling that had demanded 15 years.
Prosecutors had demanded the death penalty for Yoshie Daito, 37, who was charged with asking gang figures to kill her 38-year-old husband, Mamoru. Defense lawyers had asked for leniency. Mamoru Daito was shot to death in 1996.
