A man was killed and two others were seriously injured Sunday morning when two pleasure boats collided in Tokyo Bay, coast guard officials said.

Killed in the accident was Yoshitsuka Hanzawa, 32. His father Masaki, 61, and Kazuhiko Yoda, 46, suffered broken limbs in the collision, the officials said.

The two boats collided near Kawasaki port, they said.

Five people were aboard the other boat but none was injured. Coast guard officers are interviewing those involved to determine when and where the accident occurred.

Hanzawa's boat capsized shortly after the collision and the other was unable to move because its engine was damaged.
