OSAKA -- A 14-year-old boy has been arrested in the fatal stabbing of his father, who was found bleeding from a knife wound to the neck in their home in Takaishi, Osaka Prefecture, police said.

The boy has reportedly admitted stabbing his father Wednesday with a kitchen knife, telling police he "got angry" after his father punched him during an argument. Police have not released the names of the boy or his 45-year-old father.

The teen, in his third year in junior high school, had returned home at about noon after taking an end-of-term examination, he reportedly told police. "Even though I had been studying until 4 a.m., my father had yelled at me for only playing, and he threw away one of my videotapes," the boy reportedly said. "After coming back home in the afternoon, I was so upset that I punched a hole in a wall of the house. Then my father hit me, so I stabbed him from behind."
