Kyoto: Daigoji Godai-rikison Ninno-e

A contest, in which young men and women show their strength by lifting Mochi (rice cakes), weighing some 150 kilograms (for men) and 90 kilograms (for women), is held in front of Kaido Hall of the temple.

(1) From JR Kyoto Sta., take Keihan Bus to Daigoji Bus Stop (30 min.) (2) Tozai Subway Line to Daigo Sta. (Exit 2), and then walk 10 min.
