Director: Megan Griffiths
Based (loosely) on the story of Chong Kim, a Korean-American teen who was abducted in the 1990s, “Eden” shows us a human-trafficking ring that operates with the efficiency of a meat-packing plant. Jamie Chung puts in an impressive turn as a girl who has to forego all hope of rescue and find the strength to survive. Megan Griffiths directs with docu-drama realism and zero prurient exploitation, but “Eden” will give you more nightmares than any horror film. (G.F.)
