Muneyoshi Yanagi (1889-1961), better known as Soetsu Yanagi, was the founder of the Japanese folk craft mingei movement, which promoted the art of everyday objects created by anonymous or ordinary craftspeople.
Among the ceramics, textiles, woodwork and paintings from the Yanagi collection are calligraphic works and manuscripts by Yanagi himself, as well as items created by his son, Munemichi, who was a product designer; Jan. 7-Feb. 29.
