Feb. 3 saw the launch of "Future Lounge," a new radio show on InterFM hosted by Guy Perryman and syndicated to stations in Osaka (FM Co.Co.Lo), Fukuoka (Love FM) and Nagoya (Radio i). The show focuses on fresh new music from around the globe and is broadcast every Sunday night, 9-11 p.m.

To celebrate, Perryman and friends are throwing a supercool party at Duo Music Exchange in Shibuya, Tokyo on Feb. 9, also called Future Lounge.

Britain's rising alternative pop star Jack Peñate will be interviewed by Perryman live on stage at 7 p.m., even fielding questions from the audience. Peñate will play live at the same venue on Feb. 10.

The live stage will also boast a set from all-girl psych-pop trio Tokyo Pinsalocks. Currently working on their second album, the girls will take a break from the studio to treat fans to their tripped-out melodies and groove-riding rhythms.

DJs include long-time Tokyo resident Perryman himself, playing U.K. club music such as new material from Hot Chip, Underworld and Radiohead; DJ Yoshizawa Dynamite, formerly a member of the famed Japanese band Theatre Brook, spinning a mixed set of floorfillers; WSZ80 of British Underground, who shakes rumps with his turntable skills and an ear for a crossover classic; French DJ Fleck, who plays live, original electronica; and more to be announced.

New Japanese label Flightpath Records & Tours will also be on hand to promote its debut release by Levelload, an Anglo-Japanese new-wave duo based in London. Their album "Yellow Fever" was released in Japan this Wednesday. The first 50 people to arrive at the venue will get a free CD sampler of the label's roster.

Future Lounge takes place on Feb. 9 at Duo Music Exchange (1F O-East Building, 2-14-8 Dogenzaka, Shibuya-ku, Tokyo), 5 p.m.-12 a.m. Entry is ¥1,000 at the door plus one drink ticket.
