Rank-and-file wrestler Hokutofuji claimed his second ozeki victim of the Autumn Grand Sumo Tournament with a stunning win against Mongolian star Hoshoryu on Monday.

A day after upsetting Takakeisho, No. 1 maegashira Hokutofuji improved to 2-0 by slapping down Hoshoryu and handing him his first loss since promotion to sumo's second-highest rank ahead of the 15-day tournament at Ryogoku Kokugikan.

Hoshoryu delivered a strong opening charge, but Hokutofuji knocked him off balance as he came in looking for a belt grip, setting him up for the slap down.
