The Sunwolves on Tuesday added Kubota Spears prop Kengo Kitagawa to their training squad ahead of this weekend’s match against the Jaguares.

A team source said Kitagawa could be named to the 23 for the game on Saturday at Prince Chichibu Memorial Rugby Ground as head coach Mark Hammett searches for answers on the heels of its 92-17 whipping at the hands of the Cheetahs.

The last-place Sunwolves have lost all seven games in their inaugural Super Rugby campaign.

“I believe I’ve been given a very good opportunity,” Kitagawa said. “I hope I can make the most of this chance and represent Kubota Spears well.”
