The Hokkaido Nippon Ham Fighters have signed right-hander Anthony Bass on a one-year, ¥100 million ($845,000) deal, the Pacific League club announced Friday.

The 29-year-old, who pitched in 33 games for the Texas Rangers last season with a 4.50 ERA, has 129 games under his belt in the big leagues over the past five seasons with a 5-9 record and a 4.40 ERA.

"I'm highly expectant of him digging into the starting rotation," Fighters manager Hideki Kuriyama said of the 188-cm American.
