J. League first-division side Sagan Tosu will name former FC Tokyo boss Massimo Ficcadenti as their next manager, a team official said Monday.

The 48-year-old Italian's hiring is expected to be announced officially on Tuesday. The news comes after Sagan failed to come to terms with former Bayern Munich manager Felix Magath. Ficcadenti led FC Tokyo for two seasons, steering the club to a ninth-place finish in 2014 and a fourth-place finish last year.

Sagan Tosu finished the season in 11th place.
