Rugby fans in England, particularly in the towns of Brighton and Warwick, could be forgiven for doing a double take over the next few days.
The Rugby World Cup doesn’t kick off for another five months, but the two towns are hosting the Japan squad this week as Eddie Jones hopes to give his players an idea of what they can expect come September and October.
“I’ve met with players and coaches who were involved in some of Japan’s past World Cup campaigns and the one thing that came out was that none of them were fully prepared for the cities and the grounds,” Jones said before the squad flew to England following the weekend’s win over South Korea.
The team arrived in Brighton late Sunday and will spend four nights in England.
