The Japan Football Association said on Saturday that 150 students and workers at the JFA Academy Fukushima and the J-Village national training center have been evacuated to nearby elementary schools in Iwaki, Fukushima Prefecture.

The J-Village is located 20 km way from the Fukushima No. 1 nuclear power plant, 8 km from the No. 2 plant.

An explosion at the No. 1 plant occurred Saturday according to its operator, Tokyo Electric Power Co.

JFA general secretary Kozo Tashima said the 100 or so students attending the academy as well as the employees have all been accounted for. The JFA plans on further moving the group to Tokyo by bus.
