The Atlanta Braves on Wednesday named right-hander Kenshin Kawakami among 20 non-roster invitees to spring training.

Kawakami had a rough 2010, going 1-10 with a 5.15 ERA in 18 games, 16 of them starts. He was sent to Triple-A Gwinnett in August while making just three major league appearances between July and September.

The 35-year-old hurler, who was removed from the 40-man roster after the season, will be in the final year of his three-year deal this term.

Kawakami has gone 8-22 with a 4.32 ERA in 50 appearances (41 starts) since joining the Braves from the Chunichi Dragons in January 2009.
