YOKOHAMA (Kyodo) Yokohama BayStars right-hander Daisuke Miura declared his intention Monday to file for free agency, saying he is open to hearing from other clubs before finishing his career as a baseball player.

"In terms of age, this is the final time for me to hear from other teams. If there are other teams interested I'd like to hear from them," said the 34-year-old Miura.

Miura, who completed a six-year contract this past season, said it was important for him to have no regrets before ending his career.

"I could end my baseball career without ever knowing or end it after hearing from other clubs as a free agent. There is a big difference," said Miura, adding that he is not absolutely certain he will leave Yokohama. "My feeling is 50-50."
