Japan came from behind to edge South Korea 3-2 in the women's first round Tuesday and reach the knockout stage of the World Team Table Tennis Championships with a perfect record. Ai Fukuhara got the team off to a shaky start, falling 3-0 to Dang Ye Seo in the first match before national champion Sayaka Hirano beat Moon Hyun Jung 3-2. Japan leads Group D with a 4-0 record after three days.
