Yomiuri scored three runs on four hits in the 10th off closer Marc Kroon (2-1) to avoid a three-game sweep at Yokohama Stadium and maintain its Central League lead.

Koji Uehara (3-1), taking the mound with two outs and runners on first and second in the ninth, retired all four batters he faced for the win.
