Akihiro Higashide hit a solo homer to snap a scoreless deadlock in the 10th inning as the Hiroshima Carp shut out the Hanshin Tigers 1-0 to end their five-game losing skid in the Central League on Sunday.

Higashide connected for a shot to right-center off Yuya Ando (4-5), who allowed four hits with seven strikeouts in 10 innings before taking the loss at Koshien Stadium.

Kenny Rayborn, making his first start in Japan since being acquired from the Cleveland Indians, held Hiroshima to five hits with one walk and struck out five over seven strong innings to set the pace for Hiroshima.
