KOBE – The Orix Buffaloes, a professional baseball team formed by the merger between the Orix BlueWave and Kintetsu Buffaloes, marked their official inauguration Wednesday.
The club’s president, Takashi Koizumi, and general manager Katsuhiro Nakamura, along with front-office personnel, attended a ceremony held at its training facility in Kobe to mark the establishment of the new team.
The Orix Buffaloes will use Osaka Dome and Yahoo BB Stadium in Kobe as their home stadiums.
The Kintetsu Buffaloes brought an end to their 55-year history on Tuesday.
